Return & Exchange policy

All products purchased from YASHICA are final and cannot be returned or exchanged.

No change-of-mind refunds or exchanges on all products,  based solely on personal preference or a change of mind.

Exceptions for exchanges will only be made only for manufacturing defective products, and are considered on a case-to-case basis, subject to stock availability.

For purchases made through YASHICA’s distributors, please contact them directly.

 

Exchange for Defective Items

If you believe that your product has manufacturing defects, including but not limited to dead pixels or focusing issues, please contact YASHICA at cs@yashica.com to request an exchange within 14 days of receiving the product. Please provide photo/video evidence, along with the warranty card (if applicable) and original purchase receipt/invoice, containing the date of purchase and product name.

 

YASHICA does not accept exchange requests made after this period.

 

If YASHICA determines that the product is defective and you are eligible to exchange your product, please follow the exchange instructions provided by YASHICA Customer Service to return your product, along with the original receipt (or gift receipt) and original packaging. The returned product should be in original, saleable condition. Products can be exchanged once only.

 

Unsuccessful Delivery

In the event of the first unsuccessful delivery attempt, you will receive an email from YASHICA, requesting you to contact us within three days to arrange redelivery. If we do not hear from you within this period, or if the arranged redelivery attempt is unsuccessful, the relevant products of your order will be considered as canceled, and you will be subject to a 15% restocking fee.

Refund Policy

For online orders made through our website or crowdfunding platforms, we do not offer refunds or exchanges for change of mind. Please think twice before placing the order.

Specifically for crowdfunding orders, shipping fees are the responsibility of the customer and are non-refundable.

 

For crowdfunding backers:

Kickstarter/Indiegogo contributions are pledges to help bring projects to life, unlike traditional purchases which are always an exchange of money for products and services.

 

On Kickstarter, backers are only charged if a campaign reaches its funding goal, and backers may withdraw their pledge at any time before the campaign ends.

 

On Indiegogo, backers are charged immediately but the platform allows refunds while the campaign is still active.

 

We do not offer refunds, returns, or exchanges on items received as Kickstarter rewards / Indiegogo perks.
 

The support we gain from our backers on Kickstarter is crucial for the success and growth of our business. It enables us to collect important customer insights, develop innovative products, and improve what we already offer. In the Kickstarter community, the items you receive after making a pledge are referred to as "rewards." These are not typical purchases; think of them as generous tokens of appreciation—like the YASHICA FX-D—sent to our backers in recognition of their loyalty to our brand. 

 

We genuinely appreciate your understanding of our business model and your continued support. If you feel that your reward doesn’t quite meet your needs, here are a few suggestions for how you can engage in the spirit of crowdfunding:

  1. Share with a Friend: While our products may not be the perfect fit for you, there are many people who would value them greatly. Consider passing your reward to a friend who has a passion for photography.
     

  2. Resell Your Reward: Many Kickstarter rewards are priced below their retail value. If you’d like to recover some of that cost, consider listing your reward for reselling.
     

  3. Give It Another Try: Some of our products might require a bit of adjustment. Each item is designed for various uses, so while it may not suit you now, you might discover its potential in the right situation later on. 

 

General

This policy will be governed by the laws of the Special Administrative Region of Hong Kong.

YASHICA reserves the right to refuse refund & exchange if a warranty card (if applicable) and/or original purchase receipt/invoice containing the date of purchase and product name cannot be provided, or the information contained is incomplete or altered without YASHICA’s authorization.

International orders are not eligible for:

  • Free Shipping (unless a country-specific promotion is marketed)

  • Free Returns

  • Merchandise Exchanges

  • Gifts with Purchase

  • Buy & Save

  • Promotional Codes

  • Gift Services

  • Buy Online, Pick Up in Store

  • Price Matching or Price Adjustments
