To load a new roll of film, open the camera's compartment cover by pushing the cover lock, located on the right-hand side of the camera. Remove the film roll from the compartment — it should appear fully wound if all frames have been used. If you're unsure whether the roll is finished, try rotating the winder at the bottom of the camera. If it turns freely without resistance, the film has been fully wound.
Next, insert a new roll of film into the film slot. Pull the film out and attach it to the small sprockets inside the compartment. Close the compartment cover, then rotate the film winder until you hear a ‘click’ sound. Your camera is now ready to shoot.

Tuck the remaining film back into the roll, and it will be ready to be developed.
8. How can I extract the photos taken with my YASHICA MF-1 film camera?
After using up a roll of film in your YASHICA MF-1 film camera, unload it and store it in a cool place, away from sunlight, to prevent exposure. Troubleshooting & Errors
1. Why is my YASHICA Tank camera not detecting my microSD card?
This issue can occur for several reasons, including:
-
The card was interrupted during a read/write process
-
The file system became corrupted after an unexpected shutdown
-
The microSD card is not formatted correctly
-
The card has compatibility limitations with the camera or certain card configurations
If the camera loses power or is forced shut down while writing data, the microSD card’s file system may become corrupted. In such cases, the camera may no longer be able to read the card correctly.
We have observed that certain microSD cards may show compatibility variations depending on the brand, model, and speed class used. However, we have tested the same camera model with multiple microSD cards, and the camera has functioned normally during testing. Based on these results, the camera itself does not appear to have a hardware fault.
2. Why do certain microSD cards have issues?
Based on internal testing and reseller feedback, we have observed that some microSD cards may exhibit inconsistent performance depending on the specific model and speed class used.
In particular, lower-speed U1-rated models may be more sensitive to:
-
interrupted write processes
-
unexpected shutdowns
-
file system corruption
-
timing and compatibility differences
Important note on card selection
U1 and U3 refer to minimum sustained write speed classifications:
-
U1 = minimum 10MB/s
-
U3 = minimum 30MB/s
Based on our testing, if using SanDisk cards, a U3-rated (or higher) model is required for stable performance with this camera. U3 cards generally provide more consistent results in continuous recording and high-write usage scenarios.
